Racing for Prevention combines two of my passions – triathlons and child abuse prevention. For years I have been focusing on ways to raise awareness and prevent child abuse. When I registered for the Ironman Miami 70.3, I thought it would be a great opportunity to continue raising awareness in a positive way.

On October 23rd, I’ll be battling the waves, highways, and bridges of Miami in a half Ironman triathlon. 1.2 mile swim. 56 mile bike ride. 13.1 mile run. All in one day. No nap.

Pledge request:

10 cents per mile. Just 10 cents! 70.3 miles = $7.00 (we’ll round down for this one).

If we could get 100 people to pledge $7.00 each, that’s $700! I know money is tight for folks these days, so I want to keep the request small and manageable. And I guarantee you will feel pretty good about what that $7 can do. Your pledge is tax deductible, too. All pledges will go directly to the KidSafe Foundation, which you can read about below. When you pledge, please write in the comment section of the donation page “Ironman” so we can thank you and let you know how much we rocked this!

*I will be sharing updates of totals on my Invisible Target Facebook page.

About KidSafe:

KidSafe Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse, bullying, and internet exploitation. They provide prevention education programs to children, parents, teachers, and child-serving agencies. Your pledge will go directly to help fund this critical programming. All children deserve to have a childhood free from abuse, and you can help ensure their safety today!

rfp_002 I have devoted my life to preventing what happened to me from happening to other children. Every mile of this race represents a struggle I have overcome. 70 miles = 70 struggles. How wonderful is it that I can use my voice after being silenced for years? Let’s empower our children and their parents and teachers. Stop the abuse. Give children a voice.

Thank you so much for your support!
